Comic Sales are Up!
I constantly hear about comics sad state of affairs from many people in the industry, but the latest numbers are in and comic book sales are increasing.
Now I'm not going to fool you and lead you to believe they're great. Let's face it, they're off from the highs of over a decade ago, and far from their high points in the Golden Age. But this is good news.
Due to the lag in processing, the latest numbers we have are from November 2006. According to Diamond Distributors, unit sales for the top 300 comics are up 23% vs. 2005, and dollar sales for the top 300 comics are up 27% over 2005.
Hopefully the industry can keep this upward momentum going.
