Comic Book Research Tool – The CBG Standard Catalog of Comic Books
Are you looking for an additional comic book research tool outside of the Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide?
One tool I use and recommend is the Standard Catalog of Comic Books DVD.
The DVD contains information for over 180,000 comic books from the Golden Age to present. It includes series overviews, original cover price, artists, writers, major storylines, character appearances, a rough tally of CGC graded copies and some auction results.
I have the print edition but the large size makes it a little difficult to use. The DVD is a welcome addition and allows me to conduct research on the go.
Next Batman Movie – What Villain?
Several months ago the USA Today published an article and poll asking who should be the villain in the next Batman movie. The Riddler won.
But the question I have is are we at the point where there should be an original villain in these movies instead of recycled comic book characters? The big screen is becoming a universe of its own for both DC and Marvel. Although the main characters tend to be the same, many of the storylines are heavily modified from the comics. If this alternate universe is going to continue should we see some fresh faces?
So let’s put it to a poll. Take a look at the right sidebar and you will see the question. “Should the next Batman feature an original villain or an pre-existing comic book villain.” Cast your vote and let your voice be heard!
