Avengers #1 For Sale, Values, and Investment Survey
Avengers 1 is the first appearance of the Avengers and this investment survey will look at where it can be found for sale, value and prices realized and it’s potential.
This comic has really showed some movement, a lot of it probably due to the Avengers movie. The copy pictured above is offered for $100,000 at comiclink.
Avengers #1 joins Avengers #4 as a “blue chip” Silver Age comic book. The price history has been steady for both with an uptick in 2010-2011 with the movie getting closer to release. Avengers #1 is a key copy and in our opinion shows the potential to keep is price, with the caveat that there could be a slight retreat after the movie is released – be careful.
A CGC 9.4 copies are now hitting $130,000 (if it can be found), a CGC 9.6 hit $250,000, the Pacific Coast Pedigree 9.6 sold for $264,000 and Very Good 4.0 copies have consistently been hitting the $2,000 mark.
Avengers #4 is on Fire!
In this weeks market review I want to look at Avengers #4 (1st Silver Age Captain America) because this issue is on the move. I listed a PGX copy myself last week and it sold in under 1 hour (did I list it for too low? We’ll see). Anyway, with the Captain America Movie getting close, this issue is really moving on E-bay.
Take a look at these sales in the last week:
Avengers #4 Sales:
– CGC 3.5 $455 (27 bids)
– CGC 6.5 $838
– CGC 2.5 $382.77
– Raw copy described as Fine – $559.99
– Fair – $88.68
There are many more that sold, too many to list here. I’d suggest keeping an eye on this issue and I’ll use it as a case study in an update to the comic book movies product. Check out the link below for more copies currently for sale.
